CMI holds 29th Annual Firemen's Golf Benefit

Century Mutual Insurance Association on Aug. 25 held its 29th Annual Firemen's Golf Benefit Tournament. This year's event was held at the Primghar Golf and Country Club in Primghar. Century Mutual sponsored the event, with all entry fees from the teams being distributed to the fire department of their choice.

Ninety-two golfers comprising 23 teams teed off.

The annual event is an 18-hole tournament held to benefit the local area volunteer fire departments. This year's event raised $5,270, which will be split among 15 local fire squads.

Prins Plumbing & Heating, Treimer's Insurance, United Community Bank, Savings Bank and the Hartley Fire Department all sponsored teams for the Hartley Fire Department.

State Bank & Insurance sponsored a team for the Everly Fire Department.

The winning team was sponsored by Savings Bank of Hartley and Primghar with a score of 61 strokes. A putting contest, coffee, doughnuts, lunch, refreshments and prizes were also part of the day's events.
