• Cited after accident near Sutherland

A man was observed losing control of his vehicle twice during an accident that occurred on Aug. 8 at 5:53 p.m. near Sutherland.

A deputy with the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office observed a 2006 Dodge driven by Larry Clinton Shuck, Jr., 59, driving in the ditch near the intersection of Highway 10 and Vine Avenue. Shuck was reported to have lost control of the vehicle as he was driving eastbound on Highway 10. It entered the north ditch, drove up the embankment onto Vine Avenue, crossed the road into the east ditch and entered the service road for the Waterman Township Cemetery. Shuck turned around and continued north on the cemetery road, where he lost control of the vehicle again and entered the ditch.

Shuck was not injured. Damage to the Dodge was estimated at $1,500. The report stated that Shuck was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, and was also cited for Open Container, Failure to Maintain Control and Careless Driving.
