A celebration of life for Mark Lee Sherman was held Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Sunset Apartments in Spencer. Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Warner Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
Mark Lee Sherman, the seventh child of Rolla and Irene (Maugham) Sherman, was born Feb. 6, 1954 in Hartley. He received his early education in Hartley and attended Iowa State University.
Mark was a longtime resident of Sunset Apartments in Spencer. He was kind and generous, dedicated to helping others. He was a giver, not a taker. Mark would share bits of wisdom and wit with all who knew him, being published many, many times in the “Two Cents Worth” column of the Des Moines Register under several different pseudonyms.
Mark passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill and Doyle; and one sister, Dolores Murphy.
Left to cherish his memory are his soulmate, Terri Ewoldt, of Spencer; three brothers: Vernon, of New Hampshire; Rodney, of Washington; and Cecil, of New Mexico. Mark will be missed by all who knew him.
