Scott Chrisman receives his award July 26 during the induction ceremony for the O'Brien County Agriculture Hall of Fame.

Scott Chrisman, former editor and owner of the Sanborn Pioneer, was inducted into the O'Brien County Agriculture Hall of Fame on July 26 during the O'Brien County Fair.

Chrisman was nominated by Fran Peelen for his dedicated coverage of the fair and other agriculture-related news over the years. He was actually inducted as part of the 2020 hall of fame class, but since most fair events were canceled last year, the two ceremonies were held as one last week.

Chrisman sold the Pioneer to Marcus News, Inc., in 2017. He still works for the newspaper and covers sports and other community events.

Other O'Brien County Agriculture Hall of Fame inductees included: Jamie Sickelka, an ag loan officer at Security State Bank; Burdette Faust, a farmer and local businessman; and Tom and Ruth Konz, Golden Harvest Seed dealers and owners of Tom's Repair, Inc.
