Tentative plans for Hartley’s park just south of the athletic field were submitted to the park board. They called for two hard surface tennis courts, two badminton courts, horseshoe court, wading pool, sand pile, slide and swings, along with a picnic area.

With the exception of plate glass and some interior decorating, the modern office of the Huntting Elevator Co. was complete. The up-to-date tile building added much to the appearance of Hartley’s business district.
