H-M-S pair named 1st team all-WEC

Haack, Heyn among Top 10 for 2021 season

Seniors Ben Haack and Samuel Heyn from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn are among the boys' golfers to qualify for inclusion on the all-War Eagle Conference first team. The seniors ranked No. 6 and No. 9 among the Top 10 players this year.

To determine all-conference first and second teams, all golfers are awarded points based on their finishes at dual meets. Individuals receive from 12 points for finishing first at a meet to one point for placing 12th.

Rankings of other H-M-S players who played in varsity meets are Wyatt Borden 37th, Nick Bronstad 51st, Lucas Kroese 61st and Keith DeBoer 62nd.

The Top 10 players named to the all-conference first team are Lucas Gunderson, 12, Harris-Lake Park; Carter Schorg, 11, Remsen St. Mary's; Jack Noteboom, 11, Unity Christian; Jaxson Heikens, 12, Harris-Lake Park; Raiden Ericson, 9, Akron-Westfield; Ben Haack, 12, H-M-S; Carter Wilken, 9, Akron-Westfield; Titan Hulstein, 9, Unity Christian; Sam Heyn, 12, H-M-S; and Cade Pepper, 12, MMCRU.


The second team is comprised of Dylan Barthole, 12, Gehlen Catholic; Braydan Perkins, 11, Harris-Lake Park; Brody Spies, 11, Hinton; Dayton Visser, 12, Unity Christian; Austin Schwickerath, 11, Remsen St. Mary's; Chris Schmidt, 12, West Sioux; Jacob Sandbulte, 12, Unity Christian; Brennan Rolfes, 12, MMCRU; Alex DeBoer, 10, Trinity Christian; and Dawson Barthole, 9, Gehlen Catholic.
