• Driver injured in rollover accident

A Minnesota man was injured during a rollover accident that occurred on May 9 at 7:14 a.m.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported that Colin Ray Davis, 20, of Mankato, Minn., was southbound on L36/Nettle Avenue when his vehicle crossed the centerline and drove on the opposite shoulder. After Davis overcorrected, the vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled three times before coming to rest in a cornfield.

Davis was transported to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of suspected serious/incapacitating injuries.

Damage to Davis’ vehicle was estimated at $8,000. No estimate of damage was listed for the field and fence owned by Randal J. Porter, of Hospers.

The only citation listed on the report was Failure to Maintain Control. According to the report, Davis admitted to drinking alcohol and consuming THC wax prior to leaving Mankato. A urine sample was collected for chemical testing by the Department of Criminal Investigation lab.

• Rear ends pickup on gravel road

A pickup was rear ended on a gravel road on May 10 at 11:40 a.m.

According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, a 2018 Ford F150 pickup was stopped facing west along the south side of 300th Street. The driver, who was not identified, was about to exit the pickup when a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Matthew Mark Gagen, 31, of Bode, approached. Gagen saw the pickup on the side of the road but did not realize it was parked. The driver attempted to move that vehicle but could not prevent it from being struck from behind by Gagen’s pickup.

No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ford F150 was estimated at $5,500 and damage to the Gagen pickup was listed at $3,500. Gagen was cited for No Valid Driver’s License, Violation of Conditions of Restricted License and Failure to Maintain Control.

• Driver injured in Highway 10 accident

One person was injured in an accident that occurred on Highway 10, on May 11 at 4 p.m.

A report by the Iowa State Patrol stated that a 2001 Mazda whose driver was only identified by the fact that their license was issued in Nebraska, was eastbound on Highway 10, approximately four miles west of Paullina. The vehicle crossed the centerline and drifted onto the opposite shoulder. The driver overcorrected and the Mazda crossed the eastbound lane again before entering the ditch.

The Paullina Ambulance transported the driver to Orange City Health System. Damage to the Mazda was estimated at $10,000.
