H-M-S golfers struggle in meet with Gehlen Catholic

The Willow Creek course at LeMars proved to be the toughest foe for Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn in a War Eagle Conference golf meet with Gehlen Catholic on May 4.

The H-M-S girls fell to Gehlen Catholic, 212-263. The venue was a contributor to the Hawks’ struggles against the home team.

“The LeMars course proved to be our toughest challenge of the year. We got in trouble too often with the water,” Hawk coach Cheryl Kroese said.

Elise Haack’s 59 was the best round of the day for H-M-S. Other varsity results were Kinsey Schirmer 64, Emily Sindt 67, Elle Mastbergen 73, Megan Ten Kley 86 and Darby Mast...
