Hartley American Legion Auxiliary Unit #288 conducted the annual poppy poster contest. Thirty-two entries were submitted by fourth grade students at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Elementary. First, second and third place entries from each classroom were selected, with winners receiving $5, $4 and $3, respectively. Each of the other students received $1.

Winners in Kim DeMey's class are Emma Engelkes, Aubrey Dodge and Ryen Conaway. Winners in Lindsey Maris' class are Hunter Ahrenstorff, Alexis Myers and Viviana Delacruz. The Auxiliary expresses appreciation to Principal Cathy Jochims and the teachers for their cooperation.

The top winning posters will be displayed at Burley's Appliance. Other entries will be displayed at Fiesta Foods.
