The team scores were not low enough to earn a win, but there were noteworthy individual accomplishments for the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls' golf team in a pair of War Eagle Conference golf meets.

H-M-S lost to South O'Brien, 219-233, in a meet played on April 22 at Primghar.

Individually, Elise Haack topped the leader board in a three-way tie with Kaeley Einck and Whitney Einck of South O'Brien. All three finished with rounds of 52.

"Elise is doing a great job playing consistent golf night after night," said Hawk coach Cheryl Kroese.

Also having "a nice night" for H-M-S was Elle Mastbergen, who finished one stroke behind the Top 4 medalists with a score of 56. Other Hawk varsity results were Emily Sindt 59, Kinsey Schirmer 66, Megan Ten Kley 71 and Darby Mastbergen 80.
