The Centers for Disease Control last Friday resumed rollout of the one-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine following an 11-day pause.
Administration of the vaccine was halted April 12 so the CDC could review six reported cases of a rare and severe type of blood clot that occurred in individuals after they received the Johnson & Johnson shot. In these cases, a type of blood clot called cerebral venous sinus thrombosis was seen in combination with low levels of blood platelets.
