Top 3 individuals lead golfers to first meet win

H-M-S boys defeat West Sioux by 20 strokes

With three players topping the leader board, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn defeated West Sioux, 197-217, to earn its first War Eagle Conference boys' golf meet win on April 15 at Hawarden.

Leading the way were Samuel Heyn with a 45, Ben Haack with a 49 and Wyatt Borden with a 50. Keith DeBoer rounded out the team scoring with a 53. The rest of the varsity lineup included Spencer McCarter with a 55 and Lucas Kroese with a 57.

West Sioux's only medalist was Chris Schmidt who fired a 50.

Hawk JV scores were Nick Bronstad and Charles Conway 51, Tanner Tesch 53, Jackson Albert 55 and Bradley Van Beek 65.

H-M-S's meet at Sioux Central on April 13 was postponed and the meet on April 19 with Akron-Westfield and Trinity Christian was canceled. The Hawks play at South O'Brien (Primghar) on April 22 and host Harris-Lake Park on April 26.
