Craig Martin Kolb, the son of Thomas and Joyce (Wiard) Kolb, was born Dec. 12, 1950, in Berkley, Calif. He was the second of eight boys. They lived in several states and found a family home in Woodland Hills, Calif., where Craig graduated from Taft High School in 1969.

Craig met his best friend, Christine Riedemann, in 1971, and was married on June 16, 1973. They lived in Northridge, Calif.
