H-M-S lands 2 on boys' all-War Eagle first team

Berends, Ebel among top conference players

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn has two players on the 2020-21 all-War Eagle Conference boys' basketball first team.

Lance Berends and Kooper Ebel, both sophomores, are among the first-team selections that include two players from conference champion Gehlen Catholic and two from runner-up Unity Christian.

Berends, a first-team selection as a freshman, led H-M-S in scoring, rebounds and blocks, and was third in assists. Ebel, who was honorable mention last year, led H-M-S in assists and steals, and was second in scoring.

Senior Ben Haack is among the honorable mention selections. A first-time selection, Haack was second in rebounds, assists and steals, third in blocks and fourth in scoring for the Hawks.

The boys' all-conference selections for 2020-21 are listed below.
