Hawks move on to boys' district semifinal

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn rolled past Trinity Christian, 77-42, in the quarterfinals of the boys' Class 1A district tournament. The game was played Monday evening in Hartley.
On the other side of the bracket, Newell-Fonda knocked off MMCRU, 84-52, at Newell, setting up a district semifinal matchup between the Mustangs (16-5) and Hawks (13-9) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Newell.
The winner advances to the district final on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. at East High School in Sioux City. Their opponent for that contest will be either Remsen St. Mary's (19-3) or South O'Brien (13-9). Those teams...
