Learn about eggs at family Story Walk

Local families with preschool and elementary-aged youth are invited to participate in a family Story Walk on Saturday, March 6 at the South Park Mall in Spencer. The event is free to participate in and registration is not needed.

Families are encouraged to visit the mall any time between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Once they pick up a goodie bag at the front entrance, they can walk through the mall at their own pace reading an EGG-cellent story and learning about eggs and agriculture.

"A Story Walk is a path with story sections posted along the way to engage families in literacy activities while learning about a subject – in this case, eggs – and while moving throughout the community," said Amy Forrette, Clay County K-12 Educator with ISU Extension and Outreach, in a news release. "We hope that this Story Walk will give families an opportunity to connect with each other, as well as local resources and businesses in the community."

Any questions can be directed to Forrette at (712) 262-2264 or forrette@iastate.edu.
