Nine Okoboji/H-M-S wrestlers placed in the Top 6 in their respective brackets at the 2021 Siouxland Conference tournament, on Jan. 29 at Sioux Center.

The best finishes for the Pioneers came from Noah Strantz, who was the runner-up at 152 pounds, and Sam Pas, who placed third at 220 pounds. Okoboji/H-M-S also had one wrestler finish in fourth place, three place fifth and two finish sixth.

H-M-S's Nick Bronstad faced two rated opponents on his way to a fourth-place finish at 285 pounds. After pinning his first opponent, Bronstad lost by fall to eventual champion Jordan Ver Meer, of West Lyon, the No. 4-ranked heavyweight in Class 2A. Bronstad pinned his consolation semifinal opponent before facing Lyle Moore, of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock, in the third-place match. Moore, who is rated No. 7 in Class 2A, scored the only point of the match with an escape.

Bryce Dodge split his four matches at 145 pounds, including a win by fall in the fifth-place match.

Chayton Faulkner won his quarterfinal round match at 170 pounds due to a disqualification. He lost his next match against Kalen Meyer, of CL/GLR (2A No. 4), who won the 170-pound title and would go on to lose the fifth-place match.

CL/GLR won the conference tournament title with 215 points and Sheldon/South O'Brien was runner-up with 195. Okoboji/H-M-S scored 92.5 points to finish seventh.
