Several records set during 7-3 campaign

Not even a global pandemic could keep Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn from having one of its most successful football seasons in school history. The Hawks finished 4-1 in Class A District 1, won two playoff games for the first time ever and finished with an overall record of 7-3.
The 2020 team scored 356 points, which ranks it second all-time in scoring production. The defense continued its five-year string of seasons allowing fewer total points. Opponents scored 143 points, including 56 by West Hancock in the third round of the playoffs. That was the most points ever allowed by an H-M-S team.
