Kristy Mills, of United Community Bank's Hartley branch, served as guest speaker during the NHS induction ceremony.

President Ben Haack led the initiates in the pledge and the chapter officers highlighted each of the values held in high esteem by NHS. Vice President Gabe Bronstad spoke on character, Secretary Sam Heyn spoke on service, Treasurer Elle Mastbergen spoke on leadership and Officer-at-Large Jagger Anliker spoke on character.

Each initiate received a certificate and had a stole placed on them by Advisor Jim Thomas.

To qualify for induction into the chapter, students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average after four semesters of high school and effectively demonstrate the characteristics valued by NHS. All NHS members must continue to meet those requirements after induction.

The speaker for the event was Kristy Mills, of Hartley. She encouraged the initiates to use what they have been given and share it with others; continue to challenge themselves; set an example for others; learn how to deal with adversity; stay mentally healthy; and define success for themselves.
