Val Johnson is no stranger to the school district as she is a Clay Central/Everly alumnus and has been a member of the CC/E educational team for more than 20 years. She began as a teacher's associate before taking over the secretary position nearly two years ago.

Johnson has a degree in Early Childhood Education that helped her obtain her associate position, which allowed her to work with all grades at CC/E Elementary.

Johnson appreciates her role in the CC/E family for many reasons, including her varied daily social connections.

"I get to interact with everyone in the school, from students to staff and parents as well," she said. "CC/E has always been family to me. I love the small school atmosphere and the opportunities and support that we can offer our students here."

Johnson said the children make each workday rewarding. She enjoys watching the students grow throughout the school year and is looking forward to the year ahead.

"I love hearing their excitement when they get to do something special in their classroom," she said.
