Valero Energy Foundation donates $12,500 to HCDC playground

The Hartley Community Daycare Center recently landed a large donation from the Valero Energy Foundation.
The charitable organization contributed $12,500 for future improvements to the daycare center's playground. According to director Kaity Harms, the pea rock surface that surrounds play equipment will eventually get replaced with rubber mulch.
"We're grateful for the support from organizations like the Valero Energy Foundation, which helps make a big project like this one possible," Harms said. "Without the strong support the daycare center receives from the Hartley area, we wouldn't be where we are today."
