Ms. Hannah Greer, Clay Central/Everly's new sixth grade teacher, is starting her first year of teaching.

Editor's note: With the new school year underway, The Sentinel-News will be introducing new and returning Clay Central/Everly staff. Today we meet Ms. Greer, a first-year sixth grade teacher.

As a recent graduate from Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, Ms. Hannah Greer is happy to start her teaching career at CC/E.

Joining the CC/E family was an easy choice for Greer.

"I felt very welcomed and loved right off the bat," she said. "The teachers and supporting staff here are amazing and that's one of the things that I was really looking for when accepting a teaching position."

Ms. Greer is most excited for building relationships with her students and watching them grow both personally and academically this school year.

"My students should look forward to a fun year, filled with activities that will spark their interests," she said.

Ms. Greer's favorite thing about teaching is seeing students absorb the material right before her eyes.

"I love teaching because of the 'aha' moments," she said. "A student could struggle with something for a while and then when they finally understand, the look on their face is priceless." Greer looks forward to those 'aha' moments and navigating a new year with her new CC/E family this school year.
