• Backing vehicle collides with another

A vehicle striking another while backing up resulted in minor damage during an accident on Aug. 26 at 10:40 a.m.

According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, a 2008 Chevrolet pickup driven by Brandon Anthony Fischer, 31, of LeMars, was southbound on Nest Avenue just north of Highway 10. As Fischer and a passenger were looking at a cornfield to the east, he backed up and did not realize that a 1998 Dodge Dakota driven by David Louis Doty, 58, of Sheldon, was stopped behind him. Fischer’s pickup backed into the front of Doty’s vehicle.

No injuries were reported. Damage to the Dodge was listed at $1,000 and damage to the Chevrolet owned by Farmers Cooperative Association was estimated at $800.
