Roland Sindt

Memorial services for Roland L. Sindt were held Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly. Father Tim Hogan officiated. Interment was in Lone Tree Cemetery near Everly. Warner Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

Roland Leigh Sindt, the son of Arnold and Betty Sindt, was born Feb. 14, 1953 in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in Everly where he received his early education. After his early education he continued to help his family on the farm.

Roland married Lucy Meyerdirk on April 3, 1981, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly. Following their marriage they welcomed their daughter, Jamie, on April 29, 1982. Roland continued to farm until retiring in 2005.

Roland was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church until it closed. He enjoyed raising and spending time with his daughter, playing with his dogs, planting flowers, making his round to family and friends' houses for coffee and snacks, and also joining his friends at The Ranch for a cold one.


He passed away on his farm on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at the age of 67. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Arnold Sindt.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jamie Inman (Mike), of Everly; his three grandchildren: Jaiden, Jordan and Connar; his brothers and sisters: Norman (Jo) Sindt, of Everly; Cynthia (Darwin) Feldt, of LaVista, Neb.; Mary (Keith) DeJager, of Yankton, S.D.; Allen (Robin) Sindt, of Everly; Gaylen (Shelly) Sindt, of Fostoria; Lisa (Jay) Johnson, of Hartley; and Lori (Lee) Schilling, of Sanborn; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; along with many other relatives and friends.
