• Backs into vehicle

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office investigated a minor accident that occurred at the intersection of 310th Street and Tyler Avenue on July 10 at 1 p.m.

The report stated that Marlin Lester Rabenberg, 70, of Hartley, was westbound on 310th Street and had stopped at the intersection. Rabenberg was concerned that a semi might hit his vehicle while turning east onto 310th Street. He decided to back up to give the semi more room to make the turn. Due to the dusty gravel road, Rabenberg was not aware that a vehicle driven by Christin Angela Lee, 38, of Spencer, had pulled up behind him. His 2001 Ford Edge struck the front of Lee’s 2001 Volkswagen.

No injuries were reported. Damage to the Edge was listed at $700 and damage to the Volkswagen was estimated at $1,500.
