Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn rallied from an early deficit to defeat West Bend-Mallard, 11-8, in the opening round of the Class 1A regional tournament. The game was played Monday night in Hartley.

With the win H-M-S (3-9) advanced to the regional quarterfinal round on July 15 to play River Valley (18-2) at Correctionville. The winner advances to play in a regional semifinal game at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 17, also at Correctionville.
