Lack of offense is difference in 2-0 loss to Wolves

Rated Falcons roll past Hawks in season opener

Pitching and defense took center stage in Harris-Lake Park’s 2-0 win over Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn in War Eagle Conference baseball action June 17 at Lake Park.

H-LP pitcher Isaac Ihnen did not allow a hit in 6-2/3 innings while striking out 16 Hawk batters. Julian Burdorf recorded the final out to preserve the win.

Hawk pitcher Jordan Ortega also pitched well, allowing just four hits and one walk. He struck out three and only one of H-LP’s runs was earned.

The Wolves advanced runners to third base in the first two innings, but the Hawks were able to get out of both jams without allowing...
