Joanne Stevens

Joanne Blanche Stevens, 82 years, 6 months, of Bolivar, Mo., went to be with her Lord on April 14, 2020, at 7:15 p.m. in her home under her husband's care after a long illness with heart and Parkinson's diseases.

She was born on Sept. 26, 1937, in a farm home at Ruthven, to Harold and Hazel (Michael) Lowman. She attended Rodman Consolidated School, graduating in 1955.

Joanne married Ronald Eugene Stevens on June 10, 1956, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Joanne worked side-by-side with her husband in different business ventures.

She was a previous member of First Baptist Church in Buffalo, Mo., where she taught Sunday school and served as president of the women's organization. She was presently a member of First Baptist Church in Bolivar, Mo.

She is a former member and past president of the TOPS weight watchers club in Halfway, Mo., and was chosen queen in the year 2007 after losing 40 pounds.


She loved the Lord and depended on Him so much through the years. She loved people and was so wise. She will be so missed by many people.

Joanne is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Ronald, of Bolivar, Mo.; three children: Julie Henderson, of Park Rapids, Minn.; Tony (Sheri) Stevens, of Hollister, Mo.; and Anne Stevens, of Manteca, Cal.; five grandchildren: Sarah (Greg) Flippello, of Hawley, Minn.; Joseph (Cora) Henderson and Brian Henderson, of Park Rapids, Minn.; Kelsey (Matt) Springer, of Swartz Creek, Mich.; and Mitch Stevens, of Springfield, Mo.; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jeannine Burt, of Hartley, and Jane (Jim) Stevens, of Emmetsburg; three brothers: David (Opal) Lowman, of Omaha, Neb.; Gary (Tammy) Lowman, of Emmetsburg; and Keith (Barb) Lowman, of Graettinger; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Gloal, Eugene and Samuel Lowman.

According to Joanne's wishes, her body was cremated to be laid to rest at a later date.
