Patricia M. Rahn

Patricia Murdock Rahn, age 87, passed away peacefully at Glendale Gardens in Springfield, Mo. on May 6, 2020.

Patricia was born July 13, 1932, the daughter of Carl Rahn and Ruth Murdock Rahn, in Ocheyedan. After spending her early childhood in Ocheyedan, the family moved to Hartley in 1943. There she continued her education, graduating from Hartley High School in 1950. Following graduation she married Gary Ahrenstorff and moved to a farm in the Melvin community. Three children were born to them: Peggy, Gaye and Michael. After several years the family moved to Forsyth, Mo., where they owned and operated a fishing resort on Lake Taneycomo.

After her divorce she moved to Mountain Home, Ark. In 1993, Pat came to Spencer to care for her father. Following his death, she returned to Missouri to be near her daughter, Gaye. She had a lifelong love affair with writing and published two books and numerous articles.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and son Michael Gordon Ahrenstorff. Pat is survived and will be lovingly missed by her daughters: Gaye Larose (Larry), of Rogersville, Mo., and Peggy Stewart (Randy), of Hayward, Wis.; and her brother, John Rahn (Mary), of Spencer. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later, safer date in Wisconsin.
