A generational gin tourney in Everly: Last Saturday the Everly Lions Club hosted its annual gin tournament fundraiser at The Ranch in Everly. The venue was packed with players of all ages eager to play some 11-card gin and try their hand at winning some of the numerous prizes available. The event was even host to a handful of gin-playing children, excited to get off their phones and see if they could take down their parents, grandparents and community friends in the tournament. Among those at the event were two three-generation families. Shown here is Todd Meyer, of Everly, with his son-in-law, Josh Toft, and granddaughter, Dorothy Toft. Dorothy outlasted her family elders in the tournament, almost making it to the final rounds. Pictured to the right is the Scharnberg family of Everly: Lions Club members Mark and his son, Neil Scharnberg, alongside granddaughter Brooklyn.
