Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School band musicians Annika Overmire, Aiden Nitzel and Lillian Van Loon were selected to participate in the Cyclone Honor Band hosted by Iowa State University earlier this month. They were selected for the Cardinal Band, which is made up of over 100 students across the state. They rehearsed all day Feb. 2 and enjoyed a concert performed by the Iowa State Wind Ensemble, and then gave a performance Feb. 3 in Stephens Auditorium in Ames. Andrew Yenzer directs the trio at H-M-S.
